Drimnagh is holding its first Social Media Surgery like this one on Tuesday May 18th, 2010.

If you belong to a Drimnagh-based community, neighbourhood group, charity or are just an interested individual then please come and join us. You can drop in between the times of 10am-12noon, 2pm-4pm and 7pm -9pm. All local charities and voluntary organisations are invited.

This surgery has been organised by the St John Bosco youth centre & volunteers in conjunction with the Irish Internet Association’s campaign to ‘Digitise the Nation‘ . Surgeons work as friendly advisors giving informal one-to-one help to show you how to make the best of social media. If you’ve never been to a surgery before then it might be a good idea to look here. And, if you’re interested in finding out a little bit more about what the surgeries are and their history in the UK have a look here.

So what do you think? Are you interested in finding out more about Social Media?  Is there any specific social media tools that you would like to use better? Let us know & we will try to assist.

And if your a social media whizz and would like to take part in this event and be a surgeon, that would be great as well.

Thanks for that John. I’ll keep you posted on how we get on. I love the whole concept of the Social Media Surgeries & really hope it takes off here in Ireland as well as it has in the UK.

Thanks for the links, for using the social media surgery site and for having a go at this. Good luck – and don’t expect too much to begin with, it takes optimism to keep it working!

I know Eoin I was delighted. Fair play to to the @iia for coming up with the idea. Here’s to Digitise the Nation getting bigger every year & more people getting comfortable with using social media.
