Just to mention again, Drimnaghs first ever Funny Hat Walk is taking place this Sunday at 2pm. Everyone is meeting at the GAA Good Counsel grounds on the Davitt Rd, right across from the Suir Bridge Luas stop. The walk should take about 1 hour & thirty minutes from start to finish. The route will start at the GAA grounds, go up the Grand Canal pathway, into Landsdowne Valley Park, back out again and down the other side of the Grand Canal ending in the GAA grounds.

The walk is mainly just for fun & to encourage people to get out & enjoy their local area. It is also to promote the proposed development of a Sli na Slainte route for the Drimnagh area. If your into taking photos there are good picture opportunities along the route.

Funny Hat Drimnagh

Some of the kids on Mourne Rd had some fun today making funny hats for the walk. All sorts of stuff was used to revamp old hats including straws, xmas decorations, ribbons, tulle, lots of sparkle stuff & crepe paper. Drimnagh’s Funny Hat Walk even got a mention from the super cool hyperlocal queen, Nicki @getgood, who looks after the wonderful Digbeth is Good site in England. Think she might be jealous of our hats!!!! What do you think?

Funny Hat Drimnagh

So join us on the day if you can. Bring the dog, your friends, the kids and the Dads (Yes it is Fathers Day & the World Cup is on but hey its just for 90 minutes). Hope to see you there with or without a Funny Hat.

hi pauline just to answer nickys question the idea for the funny hat walk came from my 17 year old son while having a chat about what we could do as a fun event that people might engage with.
been trying to see how i can add a comment about the networking event in the Morean hall today but cannot figure out how to add the comment
just to say I thought it was very good and great to have some new faces in the room as well as to hear new ideas
looking forward to more of the same
