Dublin 12 Men’s Development Group

Last Wednesday, November the 14th the first Dublin 12 Health Fair was hosted in in Our Lady’s Hall on Mourne Road in Drimnagh. And it was a great success for all. The buzz and energy in the hall was great. With over 20 health stands set up around the hall they dealt with approximately 400 people through out the morning.

At the event I spoke with Yves about the Health Information and Support Initiative (HISI) which is a project for the Dublin 12 Men’s Development group and a couple of other Men’s group in Drimnagh and Dublin 12.

HISI is a group of volunteer men from the local community who are training to give information and support on health related issues to men from the Dublin 12 community.  This is a great project aimed exclusively at men and their health. Badly needed as you will hear Yves in the AudioBoo below saying that “men don’t talk“.

You can listen to myself and Yves talking more about the mens health and what the Rathmines Partnership are doing to help Dublin 12 men improve their health and well being.

The Rathmines Partnership team are doing a great job in supporting local community workers and activists for all sorts of projects in the Drimnagh area. Their blog keeps you up to date on all the latest events for more information on the mens health projects you can call Yves on 01- 4965558 or email him at yves@rpcp.ie

Here’s the audio from my chat with Yves Michalet if you’d like to listen in.  It’s just under 5 minutes and captures the lovely sound of the Dublin 12 Health Fair on the day.
