Rethinking Digital Dublin
I was very delighted to be part of a group of people gathered together by the Dublin Lord Mayor Naoise Ó Muirí at the Mansion House last Friday. The purpose of the meeting was to throw up ideas and open out the boundaries on how Dublin City Council talks and shares digital information with citizens, community groups, businesses and visitors in Dublin. People like you living here in Drimnagh.
It was great to see a good mixture of people from inside and outside of Dublin City Council, bringing, with them a diverse set of skills and interests such as web developers, citizen bloggers (me) along with Dublin City Council web and information technology people.
There was 16 males and 6 females in attendance. And all set in the lovely Mansion house as pictured here.
There was two parts to the meeting.
Second part was a presentation from the head of IT in Dublin City Council Brendan Ralph who gave an overview of how Dublin City Council website was developed 5 years ago and what how it operates today.
You can read more about the meeting at the Digital Dublin blog.
What do you think of the Dublin City Council website as it is now? What do you use it for? What information would you like to get from it as a Drimnagh resident? Let us know and we will pass on your comments.
